Pop/Country of the 90's
Pop- Pop was one of the biggest music forces from 1992-1998. It had many different artists, and many different sounds. Teen sounds like Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, and New Kids on the Block overshadowed all acts like them. Ballad singers, Like Mariah Carey and Celiene Dion became popular also, letting older people buy more music. Plus, the singer/songwriter came back, closely connected to third wave Feminism This includes people like Sheryl Crow, and Alanis Morrissette. And Finally, the Swing Music came back, with artists like Big Bad Vodoo Daddies.
Country- Clint Black Ushered a new sound of country in the 1990s. Garth Brook also enjoyed success, being the biggest Singer of country in the 1990s. Line dances also came from country, and soon the whole country was doing it. Then, more of a country rock came in, changing the sound to more a rock feel.
